Mathematical Modelling @ CUHK Mathematics

Prof. Choi has been serving as the Project Team Representative and Principal Investigator of the CUHK Mathematical Modelling Project Team:

The project team has organized a series of activities in association with the Education Bureau to promote mathematical modelling for teachers and students in secondary schools in Hong Kong:

Mathematical Modelling Workshops for Secondary School Teachers 2024/25 (with over 200 teacher participants)
Mathematical Modelling Workshops for Secondary School Students 2024/25 (with over 380 junior and senior secondary student participants)
Mathematical Modelling Competition for Secondary Students (MMCSS) 2024/25 (with over 700 junior and senior secondary student participants)
The 1st Hong Kong-Shanghai Mathematical Modelling Competition for Secondary Students (HSMMC)
(The event has been highlighted by the Secretary for Education [see 1 and 2] and featured in media outlets including HKTKWW and Dot Dot News.)
Mathematical Modelling Workshops for Secondary School Teachers 2025/26 (with over 130 teacher participants)
Mathematical Modelling Workshops for Secondary School Students 2025/26 (with over 600 junior and senior secondary student participants)
Mathematical Modelling Competition for Secondary Students (MMCSS) 2025/26 (with over 800 junior and senior secondary student participants)

The project team has also developed various mathematical modelling teaching and learning resources and interactive IT tools for teachers and students to experience mathematical modelling.
